4 factors to consider when choosing Rauch wardrobes

1. Size

Rauch wardrobes come in a broad spectrum of standard sizes, ranging from around 1.5 – 4 metres in width and 1.9 – 2.3 metres in height, and certain styles can even be made to measure. So first things first, be sure to consider which dimensions would work best for you.

How many people will be using the furniture? How much storage space do you require? How big is your bedroom? To find out which styles will fit, measure the room from floor to ceiling and along the length of the wall. Take any radiators, electrical sockets, windows etc. into account, and keep in mind, you’ll need to leave an 8cm clearance above and a 4cm clearance to one side of the wardrobe.

2. Doors

Next, it’s important to consider the door style – from both an aesthetical and practical point of view.

Rauch wardrobes can be fitted with three types of door: hinged, folding, and sliding. And the right one for you will depend on the size of the bedroom, ease of use, and preference.

Got plenty of space to play with? Hinged and folding wardrobes are a classic and elegantly stylish option, that allow you to view everything in the cupboard at once. But for smaller bedrooms, sliding doors are a fantastic alternative. Gliding open horizontally, they’re a practical solution – allowing easy access in a cramped space – and they come in a vast range of designs and finishes.

3. Style

One of the biggest factors to consider is the style of your new furniture. Do you prefer a certain design or colour? Which style would complement your existing décor nicely?
