Frequently Asked Question's

What is a fabric bed frame?

Just as the name suggests, a fabric bed is simply a bed frame (including the foot and headboard) that has been covered in a soft fabric – rather than being constructed from exposed wood or metal.

A wide range of materials can be used, but some of the most common include crushed velvet, cotton, linen, faux leather and suede. In most cases, this will be placed on top of additional padding, therefore making the bed extremely soft to touch and creating an extra level of comfort. And they’re often finished with decorative touches, such as button detailing, beading and embroidery.

Upholstered bed frames offer the perfect balance of function and style. And with a diverse selection of classic and contemporary designs available, it’s easy to find a model to suit your bedroom.

Are fabric bed frames difficult to keep clean?

Due to the material from which they’re made, fabric bed frames do need a little extra TLC compared to wood and metal varieties. But that certainly doesn’t mean they’re difficult to maintain.

Most upholstered beds are made from stain-resistant and easy-to-clean materials.

To keep them in ‘just bought’ condition, you simply need to vacuum the frame once a week. Just pop on the small handheld attachment and, every time you hoover the bedroom floor, give the headboard (and any other visible parts) a once over too – removing any surface dust.

If you enjoy a morning coffee in bed (or a late-night glass of vino!), spills are inevitable – but they don’t need to be a cause for panic. Simply spot clean the area, just like you would if you spilled something on the sofa, and use a blotting rather than rubbing technique to prevent further damage.
