Stuart James Regal Prince Mattress

The Stuart James Regal Prince Mattress offers the perfect balance between support and comfort. A luxury medium comfort which is mid-range within our regal collection. The Prince features 1260 handmade calico encased vanadium steel pocket springs combined with 4500grams per square metre of luxury layers on both sides of the mattress including Horsehair & Cashmere. We care about the edge of our mattresses which is why the Prince features a zonal edge spring system and is handmade with three rows of genuine handside stitching. A truly regal medium comfort which will offer many years of luxury support.

Calico Springs

1260 calico encased vanadium steel springs create the initial comfort the prince offers, based on a 150cm king size mattress. Some of our Regal mattresses come with a Dual Spring System to bespoke your comfort but the Prince comes with a medium spring tension as standard – creating an supportive but sumptuous, medium comfort.

Our springs are handmade in the U.K using vanadium steel, which is the highest-grade steel you can use for a spring. Vanadium steel prolongs the life of the springs and ensures they are more resilient, stronger and moisture resistant. Our vanadium steel springs are calico encased and are 100% cotton, even the thread. This allows the springs to offer a flexible, more durable and far more responsive support when compared to a standard polyprop pocket spring.

Luxury Layers

The Regal Prince has 4500grams luxury layers of the most high-end luxury fillings on both sides of the mattress. This is made up of six layers including 1200g Wool & Cotton, 1200g Cashmere, Horsehair & Flax. A full detail of each layer is available below, we choose and test every layer to ensure it provides the correct feel and support. We guarantee that our spring system and luxury layers will provide a long lasting support.

Handmade & Edge Support

The Regal Prince Mattress is handmade in the U.K. Handcrafted using the finest natural luxurious materials with a beautiful silk damask cover.  The hand side stitching is handcrafted, this takes many years to perfect this skill and it takes over 3 hours to give our Regal Prince 3 rows. The Hand side stitching not only creates additional edge support, but it is key to the longevity of your mattress. Our mattresses are hand tufted which is the hallmark of a quality mattress.

The Regal Prince mattress has the ultimate edge to edge support due to the feature of a zonal edge spring system combined with four rows of genuine hand side stitching. Our calico springs are zoned at the edge of the mattress to provide you with a superior edge to edge support so you can enjoy the full sleeping width of your mattress.

Hand Tufting

All our Stuart James mattresses are handmade and hand tufted. Hand tufting is the sign of a quality, traditional mattress. It is an age on method by which layers in a mattress are held together and the process anchors the layers of filling by driving a long needle and tufting straps all the way through the mattress. The luxurious layers are pulled together through the springs and then are bound on each side of the mattress, extending the longevity and providing an overall better support.
